Ebenezer Academy
"Pull out your slate board and chalk, school is getting ready to start! Two hundred years ago, when the log walls of Ebenezer Academy were built, those were the types of supplies the students used. Parents paid $20 in tuition for their sons to learn English, grammar, and geography so they would be able to enter college. Once the original school closed, the two-room building then housed other types of schools before it eventually closed the doors for good in 1903. Keep your eyes open when driving down Turnersburg Highway to see if you can spot the oldest school building in Iredell County!"
